Good morning,
Apologies for the delay in updating the site. I came up with a new way of doing multivariate regression, and I have been amusing myself by trying to incorporate it into a trading algorithm.
Since my last update, It has been an interesting couple of weeks in the market. If Natural Gas and Crude get much higher, I may be looking for a good old fashioned frigate building company to invest in. It’s like someone vandalized Gunvor’s truck and he’s throwing a hissy fit until the people that did it are prosecuted. Some one should let him know that gas and oil prices affect every part of the supply chain and have a permanent inflationary effect on the global markets.
Also, could someone please ask Project Syndicate to knock it off with the “Build Back Better” speeches. It’s annoying, the economy hasn’t fallen completely apart yet. Most governments don’t have enough money to build anything without destroying the wealth of those who hold their currency in this economic environment. We get it, the US government’s 30 years are now triple B, funny. it was amusing initially, but please stop.
Regarding the Long Short Portfolio, it’s doing ok. Since it launched, its only up 2.5%, but the Index it’s competing against is down 2.5%
Attached is the Academic Research that is not investment advice that includes recent Buy and Sell Ratings for the Nasdaq 100, some option suggestions, and valuations. I’m still behind in reviewing all the securitie's financials. I’ll catch up this week. The new equation I wrote for Beta that correlates with the 5 year monthly trailing Beta, doesn’t seem to be as precise as the daily trailing regression most analysts use. It was recommended that I investigate incorporating Operating Leverage in the equation. I’ll give it a whirl and see what if I can come up with anything.
